I fell in love with the healing of Simon’s mother-in-law when I looked into the Greek text of this story. I don’t like to preach about the original language of the text, but there are times when the passage isn’t understandable without it.
(In my head, she is part of the story of the first deacons in a way that just didn’t get written down.)
