SR We are? prepared

Sermon Review

Link: Advent 2, Year C 2012

Summary of what I was saying and why:
John calls us to be prepared for what is coming. And, by virtue of our baptism, we are.

Theology: Baptismal
Jesus Count: moderate
Good News: We have been baptized and are ready.
What did I change on my feet?
Not a lot.

What didn’t work/what did I miss?
I skipped a couple of nonessential paragraphs.

What did work?
I enjoyed the way I framed the sermon. Beginning with the first part of the Gospel and then recasting it for today’s world.
I am also a fan of the way this sermon works from/with last weeks. I strongly recommend listening to both.

Other sermons I liked:
Deacon Pam
About discovering the layers if Advent

Bishop Rickel
about being thankful and the wilderness

The Rev Funston
There’s something very appropriate about a lyric based sermon for the season

The Rev Garner
Domesday Preppers and the song of Zechariah

(Don’t see your sermon or a sermon you liked? Maybe I don’t know about it. Leave me a comment with a link and I’ll take a look.)
